Note: This work is a smaller version of the monumental bronze of the same title, depicting a peregrine falcon (1999), installed in the city of St. Albert AB. This abstracted bird in flight, with a missing wing, symbolizes the persistence of a species. Peregrine falcons were near extinction in Alberta and are in the process of recovery, with 65-75 pairs now estimated in the province.
