Hodgins has been selling Canadian and International artworks since 1983. We are proud to be one of Alberta’s most trusted and established art auction companies.
We focus on Canadian and International paintings, sculpture and artist made prints, with a special interest in the artists of Western Canada. Hodgins holds the auction record for many beloved Canadian artists, including Alberta’s Marion Nicoll and Saskatchewan’s Ernest Lindner.
While we have an extensive history dealing in Canadian art, Hodgins also markets and sells international works to clients across the world.
The very first Hodgins Art Auctions were held
in 1985 and 1986 in Calgary and Edmonton.
Hodgins works with institutions and charities in Alberta and across Canada to assist with fundraisers and to help arrange charitable donations. We have worked with the Foothills Hospital Foundation, Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, the Muttart Art Gallery, United Way of Calgary, Achieve, The Banff Centre, Care West, Inn From the Cold and Rotary.
Over our including the Estate of Janet Mitchell and the Estate of Stanford Perrott, Head of the Alberta College of Art and Design. Likewise, Hodgins Art Auctions Ltd. has been the auction house of choice for fine art marketing by the elite of Calgary’s corporate community.
An auction for EnCana in March of 2003 raised $ 600,000 for their corporate wellness program. A sale in January of 2005 saw the collections of FortisAlberta Inc. and Dow Chemical Canada Inc. offered with strong prices overall including $ 121,000 for an Alfred Joseph Casson of the Group of Seven fame that had been an original commission by Dow from the artist in the early 1960’s.
