Formal artwork appraisals

Hodgins Art Auctions offers formal appraisals for your artwork for all stages of life. Fill out our easy to use form below to request an appraisal.

Fair Market Value

The fair market value of artwork is the price at which it would change hands between a willing and informed buyer and seller.

Insurance

The insurance value outlines the full replacement cost of an artwork so that it may be insured with adequate coverage.

Donation

An evaluation for donation outlines the fair market value of an artwork being donated to a registered charity. Both charities and donors require this for tax purposes.

Estates & Probate

An estate evaluation outlines the fair market value of an art collection within an estate. This can be done in advance for planning purposes, for deaccessioning the collection, or for beneficiaries.

Our evaluation process:

We examine and estimate the value of thousands of artworks every year. Our goal is to make the appraisal process as simple as possible for our clients.

Our appraisal fees are based on an hourly rate, not on a per item or percentage basis. The fee will be refunded in part should you choose to consign all, or a portion of, the appraised property to Hodgins Art Auctions Ltd. within one year of the appraisal date.
