Note: Primarily a self-taught artist from the Ottawa area, Tom Wood enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943, becoming an official Canadian war artist. He is known primarily for his scenes of the North Atlantic, and paintings of the south coast of England leading up to the Normandy invasion. After the War, Wood worked in public institutions and was chief artistic director for Expo ’67.
