Provenance: Collection of Jim Pitura (Okotoks AB). Mr. Pitura, the original owner, acquired this work directly from Norval Morrisseau, circa 1972, while working as a cab driver in the municipality of Red Lake, Ontario. The artist was a regular client and following a ride home to Mackenzie Island, Morrisseau invited Mr. Pitura in for a drink. On that day, Mr. Pitura purchased four works, including the work “Owl” currently offered for sale.
