Provenance: Former collection of the late Alfred Fanthom (Calgary AB), and by descent through the family. Alfred Fanthom was a sniper during WWI. Having returned to Calgary with his health compromised from gas exposure, he took on custodial work at the Provincial Institute of Technology and Art and the Coste House. This painting was presented to Fanthom upon his retirement in 1953.
