Exhibition: The Continuing Art Association, Women’s Committee, Allied Arts Council (Calgary), Annual Art Fair
Note: Founded in the 1940s as a volunteer women’s group dedicated to fostering public interest in the visual arts, this council was originally an auxiliary to the Coste House. In 1956 it moved to the Allied Arts Centre, which also housed the Calgary Sketch Club and the Alberta Society of Artists. Funds were raised primarily through the Annual Art Fair.
