signed & dated lower right; signed & titled verso and inscribed with Glyde Inventory “No. 159 N.F.S.”; titled & dated on the framing verso and inscribed “E.A.G. #81” (Edmonton Art Gallery)
Provenance: Collection of the late D. M. (Don) Collinson, former son-in-law of the artist, and by descent to the family.
Note: The inscription verso indicates that the work was included in an exhibition at the Edmonton Art Gallery (now Art Gallery of Alberta). This was most likely in 1961, when the E.A.G. held a show of works by staff members of the University of Alberta’s Fine Art Department. Glyde established the fine art program at the institution in 1946, and acted as head of the department until his retirement twenty years later.
