signed & inscribed “/33”
Inscribed verso in pencil “David Milne, Reflections (1941) 3 plate 3 colour drypoint, 2nd state”
Literature: Rosermarie L. Tovell, “Reflections in a Quiet Pool, The Prints of David Milne”, No. 78, illustrated Pg. 178, ref. Pg. 192-194.
Note: The inscription verso indicating the titled to be “Reflections” lets us know that this print was one of the earlier printed pieces from the edition. According to Tovell:
“Milne first titled the print ‘Reflections’ but by August 1941 he had settled on the title ‘ Still Water and Fish’ for both the watercolour and the prints.”
