Note: Rosebud was a favoured early painting location of H. G. Glyde. In 1944, his frequent painting partner, A. Y. Jackson, suggested the pair paint there instead of completing a second trip up the Alaska Highway – Jackson had wanted to visit the area since passing through by train 16 years prior and observing from the rear platform, “…rolling country all cut up with coulees [and the little village named Rosebud]”.
