Note: During his career, Spina spent extended periods of time residing in Inuit communities, working and collaborating with local artists. He also worked in the communities as a Social Worker allowing for differing perspectives. His paintings serve as a form of visual diary and are accompanied by written observations, which are sometimes discordant with the images, but reflect “different sides of the same coin”.
